A favourite for high performance linear phase designs these have a slightly
lower Q per unit volume than the combline but offer a very symetrical
performance.
Linear Phase designs can provide very flat group delay over the passband,
while elliptic designs can provide sharper rejection than the standard
chebycheff prototype.
They can be suppplied from 200MHz to about 30 GHz in bandwidths from
about 1% to over 50%.
The design process is well tested and prototypes are not required.
